Happy couple with crown and bridges

Do I Need a Crown?

Crowns in Houston — sometimes called “caps” — cover your entire tooth and protect it from biting forces that might otherwise cause fractures in compromised teeth. You may need one if you’ve experienced:

  • A cavity that is too large to fill
  • Recent root canal treatment
  • Significant trauma or a fracture
  • Severe tooth wear

Custom Fixed Bridges

Bridges in Houston, Texas look like a set of crowns side-by-side, but the crown (or crowns) in the middle are actually pontics: nonfunctional crowns that are suspended between the functional crowns on either end. They are used to replace one or two missing teeth when healthy teeth are adjacent to the open space. Once affixed over the supporting teeth, the bridge spans the gap left behind by a missing tooth, returning optimal aesthetics and function back to your smile.

What to Expect During Treatment

All of our crowns and bridges in Houston, TX are custom made to complement your smile’s unique anatomy and color. After preparing your tooth and having the new restoration designed by hand, the final crown or bridge is ready to bond into place about two weeks later.

Crown and Bridge Options for Dental Implants

Our crowns and bridges can also be placed directly on top of dental implants to replace your missing teeth. While single implants and crowns are designed for individual tooth loss, a longer bridge can be affixed over a pair of implants to replace up to 3 or 4 teeth at one time.
